Counselling Services

We can help by giving you an opportunity to share your life story, your struggles and dreams to a caring counsellor without judgment. The counsellor can be a sounding board helping you to work through the issues that seem complex and distressing for you. Teen Challenge counselling is for people of ALL AGES.

Personal Issues (depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, rape, loss, grief and more)

Relationships (marriage, partner, children or extended family)

Our Counsellors

Manager Teen Challenge Counselling Service Vicki AdcockVicki Adcock - Manager

Vicki loves being with people who are struggling with issues in their life that prohibits them from living life to the full.  She loves encouraging and supporting people but also allowing them to work through the changes needed to help them lead their lives to the potential that God created them for. Vicki has a Bachelor of Counselling from Tabor College she has also trained to supervise and mentor student placements, volunteers and other workers in this field of ministry.

Teen Challenge counsellor DominikaDominika

Dominika enjoys seeing people’s lives changed and encouraged to reach their true potential. Her particular passion is to work with women and those affected by grief and loss as well as life controlling issues. Dominika has a degree in Counselling from Tabor Adelaide, as well as an Advanced Diploma of Christian Ministry from Paradise College of Ministries.

Wendy has been counselling for some time, but has almost completed her BA in Social Sciences, majoring in Youth work. Wendy has a passion for all persons to develop awareness of how one can not only be a better person, but also impact more positively in their area of influence.

Life is a privilege and being able to share our lives together, enables us all to grow, within the framework of God and His desire for us.

Teen Challenge counsellor Glenda DoeckeGlenda Doecke

Glenda is an experienced, qualified counsellor with a Bachelor of Counselling, and Grad Cert. (Counselling), who recognises the inherent, God given worth of each individual regardless of circumstances. She works with adults and children to bring hope and healing into their lives, to build skills for them to thrive in today's world.

Jane enjoys helping people to discover their strengths and to connect with God's guidance, lighting a pathway through their difficulities. She has a Bachelor of Counselling from Tabor College and a Vocational Graduage Diploma of Relationship Counselling from Bower Place, Adelaide.

Teen Challenge Counsellor Catherine Goh Catherine Goh

Catherine has been a volunteer at the Teen Challenge Careline as a phone counsellor as well as a face to face counsellor since 2005. Her passion as a Family Therapy and Christian Counsellor is to facilitate, encourage, and to help people who are broken-hearted to find their core value and true self. To help them find their Identity, their security, and their significance in Christ because they are God's beautiful creations. She has a very strong passion for reaching out to those who are struggling with issues such as relationship problems, grief and loss, addictions and personality disorders.

Catherine has an Advanced Diploma of Counselling and Family Therapy from the Australian Institute of Family Counselling and also is an Associate member of the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia Inc.

Teen Challenge Counsellor Barry Bennett Barry Bennett

Barry has a counselling degree from Tabor College. He has a passion to see others grow and be healed by God’s grace and mercy. He longs to be God’s hands and feet in helping to see those in captivity set free, as he has been set free. He believes that everyone should have the opportunity to achieve the potential that God has for all of His children.

 

Fees

The fees for each session are based on income:

21-35,000pa $35
36-50,000pa $50
51-70,000pa $60
Over 70,000pa $75
   

The actual cost is around $75 per hour but Teen Challenge offer concessions to people on low incomes.

 

Confidentiality

What you share with your counsellor is private and confidential and no information regarding you will be shared, verbally or in written form, except as follows: It is an ethical requirement for counsellors to participate in supervision and written or verbal reports may be shared with a supervisor in the practice of supervision. The law is clear about certain behaviours which are to be reported if information is shared with a counsellor. This information includes suspicions of child abuse, and the risk of harm to self or others. Your counsellor will conform to these requirements of the law. The effectiveness of counselling cannot be guaranteed, and the counsellor will not be responsible for the outcomes, or for the result of any action taken by the client as a result of advice or guidance given by the counsellor, whether explicit or implied.
