Open Day and Ride 4 Rehab a success!

Staff, students and volunteers would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended our open day at Strathalbyn on 6 November.

During the week before, we were watching the weather and preparing for a rainy day, but we were blessed with sunshine and blue skies. First to arrive were the motorbike riders part of our Ride 4 Rehab fundraiser, who ended their ride through the hills in time for lunch. Also joining us for lunch were our generous supporters, local church members and some of our new neighbours. Our 150 guests enjoyed a BBQ and salad lunch, catered for by our students, and a tour of the new facility.

During a time of worship led by two of our students, our special guest, Malcolm Smith, Executive Director of Teen Challenge Western Australia, unveiled a plaque, dedicating the facility and the work of Teen Challenge SA to the Lord.

He said that Teen Challenge was the Christian answer to the drug and alcohol problems in the community, providing Christ-centred, Bible-based programs for those whose lives are broken and need healing. He encouraged us to continue to work in the love and power of our Father and introduce our students to Jesus and his salvation.
