Who We Are

At Teen Challenge South Australia our mission is to powerfully influence individuals to reach their full potential.

Established globally nearly 60 years ago, Teen Challenge worldwide now have 1,100 centres in 108 countries. Our residential program has been one of the largest and most effective substance abuse recovery and prevention programs of its kind.

Teen Challenge South Australia was established in 1982 and is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a Board of Directors.

Living Free

Our Living Free program provides live-in residential treatment and rehabilitation services for men aged 18 and up. Our facility is located in the Norton Summit area of the Adelaide Hills.

We provide young people with a unique and rare opportunity to rebuild their lives. We have a holistic approach to their recovery which includes working with a team of professionals consisting of a General Practitioner, Psychologists, Counsellors, Dieticians and Personal Trainers.

The facility can accommodate up to 25 clients, supported by a wide range of staff and volunteers. We don’t receive government funding to run our program, so the shortfall in our clients’ Centrelink contribution is subsidised by the generous donations of our supporters.

Our Teen Challenge Living Free program has a proven track record in helping people address key issues in their lives and grow to their full potential. That means eliminating self-destructive habits by meeting the needs of the whole person. We don’t just help with addictions and other life-controlling issues – we help people grow by rebuilding their self-image, work ethic, relationships and spiritual awareness.

We also run a weekly church service on Friday nights, which you are most welcome to come along to.

Shed Night

We run a Shed Night for men every second Wednesday of the month, starting at 6.30pm.

Each Shed Night there is an opportunity to chat over dinner and then hear a testimony from a new person each time. Shed Night provides a non-judgemental space to explore topics like emotions, relationships, sex, money, health, God and mateship. Please note that it is an alcohol and smoking free event and there is a $10 contribution for the night ($5 concession).
