A cord of three strands
Teen Challenge SA relies heavily on donations within the church and the community. Please consider supporting us today for our autumn 2023 appeal. All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
I am writing today to ask if you would consider building strength and certainty for the future of Teen Challenge SA by becoming a monthly financial partner. (Thank you to those who are already giving monthly!)
Teen Challenge SA is looking for you and 88 others to pledge $30 per month to secure a 12-month place for someone overcoming life-controlling addictions. Please let me explain …
For Teen Challenge SA, to put someone through a residential rehabilitation course costs $31,750 per year. Teen Challenge SA does not receive any subsidies from the government to do this work, even though it has been proven that Teen Challenge is one of the most effective rehabilitation programs on the planet.
A recent study conducted by the Centres for Compassion at Evangel University confirms that an astonishing 78 per cent of graduates from Adult and Teen Challenge addiction recovery centres remain sober and substance-free post-graduation! The findings confirm anecdotal evidence that Teen Challenge graduates are uniquely successful at finding and maintaining freedom from addiction. (See https://teenchallengetx.org/nationwide-study-confirms-adult-teen-challenge-program-success/)
Of course, it is not just about statistics – today’s monthly request is on behalf of real people like Nicholas, who says, ‘It’s wonderful going to bed sober each night, knowing that I’m actually going to sleep without being sedated before waking up the next day, looking forward to the day to come. I am happy and hopeful. Praise be to God’.
Are you willing to join your monthly pledge with another Teen Challenge supporter and help people like Nicholas? The Bible says, ‘A chord of three strands is not easily broken’ (Ecclesiastes 4:12).
Maybe you might be able to give multiples of $30? It would only take 20 people to give $132 per month to secure an additional place.
Would you please pray about a monthly commitment to help secure the future of Teen Challenge SA and our rehabilitation students and fill in the response slip as well?
Blessings,
Graham Ross
CEO
PS Of course, if a monthly partnership is not for you right now, we still appreciate your gift, as we need all the financial support we can get.
