… And it was very good

Teen Challenge SA relies heavily on donations within the church and the community. Please consider supporting us today for our spring 2022 appeal. All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.

Remember a time when you set your mind to a task, put in the effort and completed it. You looked at what you had achieved and thought, ‘I’m so glad I did that; this is good!’

Today I am writing to give you the opportunity to feel that same sense of satisfaction again by helping to turn around a life, freeing someone from drug and alcohol addiction and giving them hope for the future.

I have been reminded a few times this month that while I was still a sinner, Christ died for me (Romans 5:8). Jesus has given me a great life, an eternity to look forward to, and the capacity to help others.

Jesus said, ‘If you love me, you will do what I command you’. The only new commandment he gave us was, ‘Love one anotherAs I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples’ (John 13:34,35).

At 64 years of age, Gary said, ‘The rate I was going, my life was going to end soon, and the desire to live was leaving me. Some say you have to hit rock bottom, and I was close’.

After attending Teen Challenge SA for 12 months, Gary’s life was transformed. ‘The journey for me this year is a miracle. I have energy and passion for living for Jesus, giving him the glory I lacked in how I lived my life before. God is good!’

Gary’s life was only transformed because people like you and me chose to love him by donating to Teen Challenge SA. Of course, we didn’t know that Gary’s story was going to happen, but our practical support wrote the story. We can now look at Gary’s life and say, this is very good!

Today I would ask you to support Teen Challenge SA, knowing that you will be the blessing the ‘Garys’ of this world need right now.

Blessings,

Graham Ross

PS ‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up’ (Galatians 6:9).
