Can you imagine?

can-you-imagine

Teen Challenge SA relies heavily on donations within the church and the community. Please consider supporting us today for our autumn 2023 appeal. All donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.

Can you imagine what it is like when your life seems so bad that the only solution seems to be to wipe yourself out with drugs and alcohol or commit suicide? That is what life was like for James.

‘I was homeless, living in a tent on the Murray River in the middle of winter, planning my suicide. Seventeen years of addiction had landed me in this situation. Planning my death was the only thing that would bring me peace. It made being homeless bearable,’ he says.

I am writing to you today to ask for your financial support to help people like James.

Teen Challenge SA clients pay an amount towards their recovery and are committed to a positive future, but the amount they can afford falls short of what it costs to deliver our recovery program.

Every dollar you give helps to pay for an extra hour, day or week in restoring a broken life like James’.

When people are caught in an addictive and destructive cycle like drug and substance abuse or self-harm, every hour and every day they get through is one extra hour and day closer to their full recovery.

Can you imagine what your donation will do? It will buy food, provide accommodation, pay for support staff, and give James a hope for the future as he comes to understand that other people care about and love him.

June is a great time to make a tax-deductible donation. At this time of the year, Teen Challenge SA finds itself with funds running very low while the demand for services is rising.

God encourages us to help people in need. Isaiah 58:10 says,And if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday’.

Please consider donating online to Teen Challenge SA and giving someone hope for the future.

Blessings,

Graham Ross
